U-Call, We Haul was born from a simple idea: to help others while offering affordable, transparent junk removal and hauling services to Southern Maryland. What began as a small Facebook page quickly became a community-focused business, meeting an essential need for reliable cleanup and disposal solutions in our area. For our family-owned and operated business, serving this community goes beyond the job itself—it's about being there for our neighbors, creating connections, and lending a hand wherever we can. From our early days we’ve understood the value of community support. That spirit is at the heart of U-Call, We Haul.

OUR MISSION

We are driven by a commitment to serve our community, especially those who may otherwise struggle to find support. We’ve come to realize that there are members of our community—often those on state assistance, the elderly, or individuals facing health challenges—who cannot access junk removal services due to funding barriers. This awareness has shaped our mission as we grow and expand: we want to bridge that gap, offering compassionate support to everyone, regardless of circumstance.

While we’re a small business and must maintain a profit to continue serving, profit isn’t our sole purpose. Our ultimate goal is to create accessible, meaningful services that support both those who can afford them and those who need assistance. As we grow, we envision a future where we’re able to extend our reach to every corner of the community, making a positive impact in ways that larger companies often overlook. This commitment to service is what truly defines U-Call, We Haul.

MEET THE OWNER

Originally from San Diego, CA, Lucas grew up moving frequently with his Navy family, experiencing life on both the West and East coasts before settling in Southern Maryland at age 10. Just two weeks after moving into their new home, Hurricane Isabel struck, flooding their yard and littering the neighborhood with debris. Lucas and his siblings joined their neighbors in clearing out the damage, an experience that sparked his deep appreciation for community support and resilience.

Lucas’s career has taken him offshore, where he’s spent years coordinating essential supplies for ships on the Chesapeake Bay, with a continued passion for being on the water. He founded U-Call, We Haul not only to offer affordable junk removal but also to assist those in need, including underrepresented members of the community. Today, Lucas and his team work with a mission: to deliver honest, safe, and affordable services to every customer, building relationships one project at a time.

Joining Lucas on this business venture is his wife Haley who jumps in to help when the job calls. This little side project is something that is growing a long with the Smith family.
